Über Günter Hager
Neben seiner Leidenschaft für Gastgeberschaft und Unternehmertum setzt sich Hager seit 2006 für soziale Projekte in Tibet ein. Er ist Gründer der beiden tibetischen Waisenhäuser „Home Josef 1“ und „Home Josef 2“ sowie eines Altersheimes für tibetische Bergnomaden.
Der in Wels (OÖ) geborene und im Almtal aufgewachsene Günter Hager (68) ist einer der ersten Haubenköche Österreichs, Küchenpionier und seit 1981 erfolgreich als Wirt tätig. Während seiner Ausbildung machte der gelernte Koch bei berühmten Küchenpionieren und Sternegrößen wie Werner Matt, Bertold Siber, Gerhard Gartner oder Emile Jung Station. Zehn Jahre lang führte Hager das „Allegro“, das erste Haubenrestaurant von Linz. Seit 1997 ist Günter Hager Chef des Stadtbräu Josef in Linz, das er 2008 umgebaut und neu eröffnet hat. Das Gasthaus und Szenelokal gehört zu den Fixsternen am Linzer Gastrohimmel. Günter Hager ist verheiratet und lebt mit seiner Frau Monika im Mühlviertel. Sohn Andreas ist ebenfalls in der Gastronomie tätig. (mehr auf Wikipedia)
